SW-SR2 steering wheel torque and angle transducer
Steering torque and angle in real driving, with the steering wheel still doing its job.
Torque and angle, through a slip ring with encoder. SW-SR2: Datasheet PDF
Compact, low-profile assembly. The vehicle steer sensor can be read with an optional CAN bus reader. SW-TEL: Datasheet PDF

01 · The essential
On the series steering wheel
The transducer clamps onto the steering wheel the vehicle already has; four clamp types cover diameters from 330 to 530 mm. It can also replace the wheel and mount on the splined steering shaft. Setup is quick, on the road or in the lab.
Torque comes from a temperature-compensated strain gage bridge in stainless steel, angle from a high-resolution multi-turn encoder. A Michigan Scientific slip ring carries the signals; the control unit powers the transducer and outputs ± 10 V and CAN.
The airbag should be disabled while the transducer is fitted, and the mounting bracket may cover some steering wheel buttons.
