The Series M460 is a digital telemetry system for one to eight full strain gage bridges or thermocouples. The transmitter samples all channels simultaneously at 140 000 samples per second, through fully differential amplifiers, an image rejection filter and a digital anti-aliasing filter, and converts at 16 bits; data bandwidth is DC to 1 000 Hz. Each strain gage driver has 3.0 V excitation and its own gain and shunt resistor. Enclosed, the transmitter measures 59 × 33 × 7.6 mm and weighs 34 g; it runs from −40 to 125 °C on 6 to 9 V DC.
It is powered by a battery or by induction. Data goes out on a 2.4 GHz FSK link with 16 RF channels and a total delay of 17 ms. The receiver, 180 × 89 × 38 mm (64 mm high with induction), runs on 9 to 36 V DC and takes two antennas, with RF diversity and error checking. It gives ±10 V outputs on a rear connector, with 100 Hz or 1 kHz filters, or digital data over Ethernet to a PC. LEDs and status outputs report transmission quality, low power and shunt status.
It is designed for measurements on rotating equipment and wherever a wired sensor cannot reach. The M460 transmitter is also the one housed in the T8 end-of-shaft telemetry.
